Carla Bruni, another model from the 90s. Facial structure is not super heavy, but one can appreciate the typical model facial structure, with the wide cheekbones, and well developed jaw. Cheekbones are wide enough to create this delicious shadow zone... a characteristic highly prized in the model world.

The reason for this super-strong bone structure, uncommon for most biological women is that there is a large number of secret transgender males in the fashion world, much before androginy became an outspoken trend. Just check the size of the skull, the deep-set eyes, the square jawline and flat, wide chin of so many "female" beauty icons such as actresses Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, Lucille Ball, Ursula Andress or top models like Alessandra Ambrosio, Linda Evangelista, the above mentioned Carla Bruni, Helena Christensen or Kate Moss to name but a few...

None of those women are "secret transgender males".
This is not something that can be hidden those days.

Yes Carla Bruni has a strong facial structure, and the only reason why it is a common trend in fashion industry, is because it is highly photogenic and viewed as higher facial standard.
The thinness trend do accentuate facial structure visibility for sure.

You mention Brigitte Bardot and Sophia Loren... I don't consider them as particularly square jawed:
